Fiat 500 Review
Is there a car more retro and fashionable than the Fiat 500? This compact model triumphs over so many others in the same segment for its charming aesthetics and sense of fun.
Driving
The Fiat 500 is very stylish, but looks aren’t everything. Fortunately though, the 500 is easy and fun to drive. Its small size makes it ideal for navigating busy roads and tight parking spaces.
If you want a compact hatchback, which can perform on longer, faster journeys as well as in urban areas, the Fiat 500 may not be the all-rounder you are looking for, but as a city car, it’s a great little runabout.
Practicality
The Fiat 500 compact is exactly that. Space was not at the top of the list of priorities when this car was designed and if that’s what you’re after, it’s probably not for you. In the front, there’s plenty of headroom (unless you opt for a sunroof) and legroom is adequate, but passengers in the back may find themselves a tad cramped.
In regard to safety, the 500 is among the best in its class, with seven airbags, ABS brakes and an Isofix child seat mountings feature.
Interior
Inside, the design is just as retro as its exterior. The gearbox is positioned up high, as is the driver’s seat, which allows for a good view. The Uconnect touchscreen information screen is easy to use, with DAB, sat nav, USB ports and Bluetooth.
Cost
In comparison to some of its competitors, the Fiat 500 is not the cheapest to buy, but insurance and running costs are reasonable enough to make up for that.
For buyers looking for a fun, stylish city car, the Fiat 500 is a prime choice. While it is not the most practical option, it is enjoyable to drive and has got plenty going for it. View Wavertree Car Centre’s current range of used Fiat 500 cars online or at our showroom in Liverpool.
